09 Nov Launch of Smart Urban Co-Innovation Lab @ East Coast
Smart Urban Co-Innovation Lab @ East Coast led by CapitaLand Investment was launched on 30 October 2021 by Grassroots Adviser to East Coast Group Representation Constituency Jessica Tan. The community initiative under East Coast Vibrant Plan will contribute to creating jobs and developing new growth industries to set up in the area. The Lab provides a framework for businesses, organisations and residents to co-create and co-deliver programmes and that create lasting positive impact for a more vibrant East Coast.
Mr Aylwin Tan, Chief Customer Solutions Officer of CapitaLand Investment and Director of Smart Urban Co-Innovation Lab, said, “Leveraging CapitaLand Investment’s network internationally and in Singapore, our first Smart Urban Co-Innovation Lab at Singapore Science Park has hosted over 500 companies and onboarded more than 70 members onto its ecosystem to catalyse and co-innovate smart cities solutions. Today, we are glad to collaborate with East Coast GRC, our customers and partners including leading technology firms at our Changi Business Park, to extend our ecosystem to the East Coast community. Through the Smart Urban Co-Innovation Lab @ East Coast and anchoring Changi Business Park as the potential ‘CBD of the East’, we aim to contribute to creating jobs and developing new growth industries for Singapore. We welcome residents and companies to share ideas and pioneer their initiatives through the Smart Urban Co-Innovation Lab @ East Coast.”
Together with partner companies Amazon Web Services, Changi General Hospital, Honeywell, Huawei, KALERA, PlanetSpark, Rohde & Schwarz and Singapore University of Technology & Design, the Lab will roll out programmes and activities for corporations and residents to collaborate and co-innovate solutions on community and business issues, as well as prepare students with future-ready skills. East Coast residents and students can gain insights into the workings of the companies through visits, discovering career opportunities and internships, as well as picking up new skills.
