13. Barrier Free Access (BFA) Routing

Background of Current Process & Challenge Statement

There is a need to include BFA features in maps so that they can be relevant and useful for footpath related applications.

Requirements

• Leverage on computer vision technologies and mobile devices to facilitate the contextualizing and capturing of points of interest along the way.
• Updating route conditions based on street imagery and sensors in mobile phones.
• Barrier free access (BFA) routing to be made available on mobile phones and to enable user experience anywhere, anytime.
• Routing system is to consider the accessibility parameters while a user is taking a certain  route on a wheelchair or on a PMD.
